Have tried 3 FM3333/FM3350 water filters and all failed before filter was half used. First one started spraying out the usage window,second developed crackin upper hsg,and third has developed a crack in upper hsg.also.We do not have excess water pressure for sure.Cant be a plugged filter as the orange line is not even half way exposed.. Have bought extra filters but hate to buy another unit as Walmart will not replace it again.. Any Suggestions ???
The o-ring has to be replaced and the unit can be popped back together. Simply put the unit in a vise supported above the vise by the Pur mount and the body below the vise. Strike body close to the vise with a mallet. The body will come loose and you can pull it off the mounting unit. You will see an O-ring that needs to get replaced. Just compress the unit back together after replacing the o-ring.
Other people complain about a cheap plastic product. It doesn’t matter what the product is made of (brass, steel, etc…), it’s the o-ring that is the problem. It’s simply wear and tear.
