I’ve had my system for well over a year and had no problem whatsoever with this system or this filter. For me it has been far superior than other brands and it didn’t take a jack hammer to change the filter. Our water in West Des Moines is terrible, with this filter I don’t ruin appliances like my coffee maker. I am very happy with it.
Very Satisfied

I have a home and an apartment. I have the Dupont 200 installed at both location. They do a great job of improving the water quality. Both have about 175 gallons through them and I am getting ready to replace the cartridges.
I like the fact that they keep track of how much water has been filtered through them by displaying a number while in use, so that you don’t replace them prematurely and waste money.
I have had no problems with leaking cartridges so far.
solid product

I’ve tried other faucet filtration systems (Teledyne, Pur) that I’ve picked up at the local hardware store, and all have cracked within one month. We’ve been using the FMC300 for over 6 months and it’s still going strong. The stream of water that comes through the filtration system is slow, still the FMC300 is head and shoulders above all the other systems I’ve used.

I purchased the Dupont FM350 Deluxe water filter because of the price and the filtering capacity. I’ve been very happy with the service it’s given! My only concern after 208 gallons filtered was locating a replacement filter locally. The water still tastes great!
Unreliable

I second Yojimbo’s claim. They certainly do end early. One of my 200 gallons ended at about 50. However, it appeared to be a lemon, so I’m giving it three stars for now.
CAUTION: Cartridge Prone to Premature The filter cartridge that goes in this unit is a defective product prone to preRupturing

You’re lucky if this lasts 50 gallons b/c the Dupont FMC300 is prone to premature rupturing, likely due to a manufacturing/design defect. The bottom seam/weld of the cartridge is very weak and will not last anywhere near the 200 gallons of life it’s rated for. I have gone through three FMC300 cartridges (rated for 200 gallons) but in fact each lasted less than 50 gallons of use. The first sign of trouble is usually a slow drip from somewhere around filter unit; eventually it deteriorates into a gushing fountain.
Dupont Customer Service is aware of the problem with this cartridge, as well as the FMC103 rated for 100 gallons. The construction is the same, and they both have the same defective bottom panel seam/weld. If you call to ask for a replacement of a leaky faucet filter unit they will demand a dated sales receipt, etc. But if you tell them you have a defective, ‘ruptured cartridge’ then they will offer you a replacement, no questions asked. Obviously, they know the FMC300 cartridge is a defective product.
